Walking
The Peak District and Derbyshire is a popular walking destinations and there is something for everyone, from challenging treks to gentler walks in the countryside. You can find wonderful walks direct from your cottage door in a spectacular landscape and with many traffic free trails and walking routes that you can follow.
Carsington Water
Carsington has several miles of well maintained tracks that can be explored on foot. There are recommended circular walks that all begin from the visitor centre but can easily be joined directly from the Weathericks Holiday Cottages.
High Peak Trail
The High Peak Trail is a 17.5-mile trail from High Peak Junction, near Cromford to Dowlow near Buxton.
It's a traffic-free trail suitable for walkers, cyclists and horse riders passing through some of Derbyshire’s finest countryside.
